Here at Schultz diesel Sports we specialize in the mighty Duramax engine. The Duramax engine is the leading engine of power, no other diesel engine being manufactured right now has the same amount of power as the Duramax. These long lasting trucks will provide you with the power to keep your life moving. Though this engine has a cult-like following they definitely don’t come without their problems. LBZ engines are known for head gasket failure, overheating and water pump leaks. Whereas an LLY engine is known for water pump failures, injector harness chafing, and glow plug failures. Newer engines tend to have injector problems, and piston issues. With this being said, typically the most reliable Duramax engine was the LLY/LBZ during the years of 2006-2007. For when your Chevy or GMC needs a little TLC or whether you just want to jack it up Schultz Diesel Sports is proud to be your #1 service provider in Calgary.

A duramax diesel engine is a powerful engine that requires frequent maintenance to ensure the health of the engine. Repairs on these engines are not cheap, if you want to protect your investment ensuring general maintenance is performed at regular service intervals. Any aftermarket parts installed on a Duramax should be serviced on time based on the required intervals.
The recommended service interval for Duramax diesel trucks varies depending on the model year and other factors. Check your owner's manual or consult with a qualified technician to determine the best service schedule for your truck.
Here at SDS we offer a wide range of services. Some of our most popular services include, aftermarket fuel systems, tuning, engine diagnostics, and turbo installations. We also provide general maintenance services, although we specialize in performance upgrades on Duramax engines.
Our hourly shop rate is $155/hour, we pride ourselves on quality services specializing in the Duramax engine and our services live up to our prices. General services such as oil changes will come at the cost of the hourly rate plus parts and fluids. General servicing can cost as little as $200 and as much as $1500 depending on how many hours and parts your vehicle requires. Aftermarket upgrades will be the price of total hours spent + aftermarket parts, and typically cost much more money then our general service items. Contact us at any time for an estimate on the service you're interested in.
Maintaining your Duramax can be easy with regular service intervals, monitoring fluid levels, and avoiding abuse of the engine. Abuse includes towing over capacity, letting the engine overheat continuously, and racing the truck without the appropriate aftermarket parts. For the best maintenance of your Duramax engines check with your service provider for advice on what the best maintenance intervals are for your vehicle.
